Pressure to expel Hamas is rising after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged regional governments to join Israel in forcing the group from Gaza, following the U.N. Security Council’s approval of President Donald Trump’s peace plan.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said on X Tuesday that it was time to begin “ending Hamas’ rule” over Gaza, and that Israel fully endorses the vote from the UN. Hamas has so far not materially demonstrated willingness to disarm, but mounting pressure from both the West and neighboring Arab nations may prove to be instrumental in changing their outlook.

“In cooperation with the United States and other countries signed on President Trump’s plan, we expect to receive all of the deceased hostages with no delay,” the PM’s office said in their post. “And to begin the process of disarming and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip and ending Hamas’ rule over Gaza per President Trump’s and [U.S. Ambassador to the UN] Waltz’s statements.”

“Israel extended its hand in peace and prosperity to all of our neighbors and calls on them to normalize relations with Israel and join us in expelling Hamas and its supporters from the region,” the PM’s office continued.

The 22-state Arab League called for Hamas to disarm in July in a joint UN resolution. Among the signatories are key mediators between the terrorist group and the West, such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Implementation of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has been tentative, and minor skirmishes have broken out, but the deal has so far held back major conflagrations between the two factions.

Trump’s peace proposal calls for a “International Stabilization Force” (ISF) to take over governance from Hamas, which would be led by “Palestinian technocrats” and include forces from numerous Arab nations. The ISF would be governed by a “Board of Peace,” which would include President Donald Trump in leadership along with Former Prime Minister Tony Blair.

“As the United States’ Resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council conveys, President Trump’s administration is committed to a demilitarized, deradicalized, prosperous, and self-governing Gaza supported by broad regional participation,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
