2. Former FBI Director Robert Swan Mueller, who served as special counsel investigating purported ties between President Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia, has passed away at the age of 81.
3. President Donald Trump has announced that he will be deploying Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to airports to fill in for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees who miss work during the partial government shutdown.
4. Pittsburgh International Airport has partnered with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to open a food pantry for TSA employees who have been working without pay for weeks amid the partial government shutdown.
5. The Pentagon is reportedly deploying about 2,500 more California-based Marines to Iran as President Trump attempts to open the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping during the ongoing Middle East conflict.
6. The death of Ali Mohammad Naini, spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was announced Friday. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a post that he was ‘eliminated.’
