Democrats repeatedly have claimed the Jan. 6, 2021, protests at the U.S. Capitol were an actual “insurrection.”
That would actually be an attempt to overthrow a government with preparations to take over its economy, military, foreign policy, domestic agenda and everything else.
That’s despite those people, charged and jailed by Joe Biden and pardoned by President Donald Trump, had no such schemes and weren’t actually charged with insurrection.
That got traction only among leftists, so they later tried again, defining “insurrection” as the act of flying an American flag upside down, which normally is considered a distress sign.
That happened when such a flag was spotted outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.
And if that’s the standard, Democrats across the nation are right now pursuing an “insurrection.”
See the images of that very handling of the U.S. flag, in El Paso:

In Yosemite:
Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan. pic.twitter.com/jWOBfV4sRa

A report at the Federalist compiled many of the images, and explained the Yosemite stunt came as there were cuts being made to the National Park Service budget.
“The Washington Post fearmongered about the cuts, reporting that the Trump administration fired ‘the sole employee with the keys and the institutional knowledge needed to rescue visitors from locked restrooms,’” the report said.
It continued, “In Boulder, Colorado, an upside-down American flag was hung from a prominent rock formation near an office for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. According to a local Fox affiliate, the NOAA ‘began the process of firing hundreds’ of federal workers last month.”
